Exclusive Homes South France
Before taking a trip to the glorious Tarn region to view a 19th century château and a soon-to-be completed selection of exclusive homes for sale within its grounds, you might just realise when you get there that you’ve already glimpsed a view of the main building somewhere before. You may in fact have glimpsed it on the big silver screen.
La Durantie, built at the turn of the century by two Parisian sisters, has recently been used as the location for an upcoming film starring Helen Mirren. Directed by Lasse Hallström, produced by Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg, and based on the novel by Richard C. Morais, The Hundred-Foot Journey uses La Durantie as its setting for a Michelin-starred French restaurant run by Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren). The film, released in cinemas on September 5th 2014, pays deference to the untamed beauty of the region and its celebrated culinary heritage, strengthened by its proximity to a city renowned for its gastronomy, Toulouse.
La Durantie, the elegant yet majestic Belle Époque château in the heart of the Tarn region, is currently undergoing renovation work. It is to be transformed into a country club and spa facility, while an exciting new property development is springing up within its grounds. Exclusive homes are being built in the vernacular style on the estate’s south-facing slope. The homes available at La Durantie, designed by award-winning architects, will offer their owner spaciousness, simple luxury, surrounding scenes of unrivalled beauty and an unbeatable style of living.
If you’ve been in search of your dream home in the Midi-Pyrénées, then you may just have found it.
